One of the most rewarding aspects of curating Milestone Rome for us is getting in touch with amazing people who share our same passions and values. So it has been a pleasant discovery to cross the path of Storytrail, the first platform of "video city guides”, thanks to our common wish to unveil the unconventional stories hidden in a city like Rome. It has been truly amazing being contacted by Abigail Levner, director of Marketing and Engagement at Storytrail, and having the honor to be interviewed by her for their official blog in an exciting conversation about our projects and our personal relationship with Rome. You can read the full interview on the Storytrail blog.
Storytrail is one of a kind project, which uses audiovisual storytelling to transport travelers around the globe, featuring the 12 cities in Europe and USA that are most visited by American travelers. And their first stop couldn’t be other than Rome.
Their Rome storytrails design four beautiful and uncommon walking itineraries passing through about 20 places each in 4 different areas of the Eternal City. Each path is enriched with involving little videos in which the traveler Jason and a local guide hang around to unfold curious stories along the way. Besides renown art treasures like piazza San Pietro, piazza della Minerva and San Luigi dei Francesi, the trails are studded with several unexpected hidden gems far from the usual routes, such as: Porta Angelica and piazza dei Quiriti in the Vatican area; San Marcello al Corso in the center east; piazza Sant’Agostino behind the famous piazza Navona; vicolo del Gallo and via Giulia near Campo de’ Fiori. Sounds, voices, history, wonders, quirky and fascinating narrative make the discovery of our city unique and touching, empowering the visitor’s experience.
To help curious travelers live in person the breathtaking and bustling city of Rome, Storytrail is also offering the “Share Your Way to Rome Giveaway”. To enter this travel prize visit http://www.storytrail.co, create an account and share the site with your network up to the 17th of July. Good luck to our milers!
